Rainbow_2Build a Better You!

July 6, 12 – 1 PM, Eat the Rainbow

For ages 3 through 5. We will read stories and create crafts about rainbows. Then we will whip up a rainbow themed lunch and enjoy eating our colorful lunches with friends! Registration required.

July 13, 12 – 1 PM, Snack Attack

For grades 1 – 5. We will read stories and create snack themed crafts. Then we will cook up some healthy snack treats to enjoy with friends! Registration required.

July 20, 12 – 1 PM, Healthy Eating Potluck and Cook-Off

The whole family is invited to check out one of the library’s many wonderful cookbooks or use a family favorite to create a delicious, healthy dish at home (all vegetarian please!). Share it with friends at our potluck. Librarians will judge the dishes and prizes will be awarded to all! Registration required.


Lego Club

1st and 3rd Thursday, 4:30 – 5:30 PM

We provide the Legos, you provide the imagination. Build a creation, by yourself or in a group. Display it in the library until the next meeting, when we will dismantle it, and make something new! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.


Reading to WillowPAWS for Reading

First Saturday of the Month, 11 AM

Practice literacy skills by reading aloud to a well-trained therapy dog from PAWS for People (Pet-Assisted Visitation Volunteer Services). Dog and owner will be here for six individual 10-minute sessions. All readers must be pre-registered to participate. Free Program.


GeoTrax Build and Play

First Saturday of the month, 1 – 2 PM

All aboard for fun, when we bring out the library’s collection of GeoTrax trains! Use tracks, buildings, and other accessories to create awesome setups. Then enjoy open playtime with your work! For ages 3 and up, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.


craftsMessy Mondays

Every Monday, 2 – 3 PM

Drop in and create crafts with a variety of art supplies from our craft closets. Free program, open to grades K-5. No registration required.


 

Good Neighbors

Build a Better World by becoming a good neighbor! Join us on Fridays as we take the time to do read, create, and do good deeds for the West Grove community.

       June 30, 2 – 3 PM, Beautify the Library!

Help us redo the stepping stones for the library’s garden and create positive messages with sidewalk chalk

       July 21, 2 – 3 PM, Caring with Cards!

Create thank you cards for community helpers and get well cards for local nursing homes

       August 11, 2 – 3 PM, Animal Kindness!

Make sweet potato dog treats along with dog and cat toys to donate to a local animal shelter


 

book treeBook Buddies

Every Tuesday, 3 – 4 PM (Beginning June 27th)

Avoid the summer slump by practicing your reading skills and becoming a Book Buddy! Bring the book you are currently reading, or use one of the books we provide, and read aloud to an older buddy. This free program is for kids entering 1st-5th grade. Registration is required.


 

Infomaniacs!

Wednesdays, 2 – 3 PM

Are you up to the challenge? 2nd through 5th graders are invited to come build, think, and succeed as you compete to fulfill each challenge! A new challenge each week! Free program. No registration required.

Join us as we read, learn about, and make slime! Program is free and open to all ages. No registration required. Part of Avon Grove Library’s Teen Led Programs.


Family Yoga Day

July 7, 2 – 3 PM

Join Avon Grove Library for an interactive story and yoga program! Pat McKeon, an instructor at The Light Within  yoga studio, will teach children the basics of yoga. This free program is for ages 4 and up and their caregivers. Please bring a beach towel and wear socks. Limit 12 children. Registration is required.

July 8, 9:30 AM, Goddard Park

Join Avon Grove Library at Goddard Park for stories, bike safety tips, and a bike parade! The library will supply materials for you to decorate your bike that you bring. Afterwards, we will have a bike parade on the paved path around the park! A free program for the entire family! Registration Required.


 

Acting Out “Dinorella”

July 15, 10 AM

Join us as we reenact the Prehistoric Fairy Tale “Dinorella” written by Pamela Duncan Edwards! Read the story, make your costume, and then act out the play at the end of the program. A fun free program for 1st through 5th graders. Registration Required. Part of Avon Grove Library’s Teen Led Programs.

July 22, 10 AM

Join us for a music storytime! Come read, sing, dance, and play along with Miss. Sarah and Mr. Quinn! All ages welcome. No registration required.


 

Lego Block Party

Fourth Saturday of the month, 1 – 2 PM

Each session we will build, in a group or on your own, a fabulous creation then play with family and friends. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.

 


Children’s programs at the Avon Grove Library are held in the Children’s Activity Room, just beyond the elevator in the lobby and are free unless otherwise noted. Most programs do not require registration.  Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Find our Storytimes, on the Storytime Page!

BAD WEATHER POLICY: Morning Programs are cancelled if the Avon Grove School District has a delayed opening or is closed. Afternoon or Evening Programs are cancelled if the schools are closed or close early. Updated cancellations will be posted in the Library’s Blog and on our Facebook Page.
