Children’s and Family Programs

Playing with the trains!Children’s programs at the Avon Grove Library are held in the Children’s Activity Room, just beyond the elevator in the lobby and are free unless otherwise noted. Most programs do not require registration.  Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Fall programs are held September 8th thru December 19th, except on Library Holidays.

Tea with Felicity

October 28th 4 – 5:30 pm

Come and join us for an American Girls’ Tea Party!  We’ll have games, crafts, prizes, snacks, and of course tea! Your favorite doll can join us too.  Colonial costumes are welcome.  Free Program, registration is required, limit 25.

Bingo Nights

September 8 and October 13, 6:30 – 7:30 pm

Bring a nonperishable food donation for the local food pantry.  Family Fun with prizes and snacks for all ages.

We provide the Legos, you provide the imagination. Build a creation, by yourself or in a group. Display it in the library until the next meeting, when we will dismantle it and make something new! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.

Feel the Rhythm Fridays

Every Friday at 2 pm (starts September 11, 2015)
A musical adventure where we read, sing, play and more! Enjoy dance and movement activities. One week we might use the library’s musical instruments, the next we might create our own!  For toddlers to kindergarteners but older and younger siblings are welcome. Free Program. No registration needed.

Lego Block Party

4th Saturday of the month, 1:30 – 2:30 pm

Each session we will choose a theme and challenge you, by yourself or in a group, to build a unique creation in one hour. We’ll take a photo of your design and display photos in the library and/or on our social media. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.

4th Saturday of the month, 11 am – noon
Read aloud to therapy dog “Bodie” with handler, Diane. Provides a supportive, fun way to improve library skills and learn to enjoy reading. Registration will be required for 10-minute period per child. Free Program

BAD WEATHER POLICY: Morning Programs are cancelled if the Avon Grove School District has a delayed opening or is closed. Afternoon or Evening Programs are cancelled if the schools are closed or close early. Updated cancellations will be posted in the Library’s Blog and on our Facebook Page.
