fiestaJosefina’s Fiesta

October 20, 4 – 6 PM

Avon Grove Girls is celebrating Josefina with a fun fiesta!  We will have games, crafts, stories, and food to help celebrate this New Mexican girl from the 1800s. Your favorite doll can join us! Registration is required for this free program.


Character Design!

October 21, 10 – 11 AM

2nd through 6th graders are invited to come learn how to design their very own characters! Come write and draw with us as we learn what makes a great developed character! No registration required for this free program.


 

yodaStar Wars Reads Day

October 27, 4 – 6 PM

Join Avon Grove Library and celebrate the 6th annual Star Wars Reads Day on Friday, October 27th from 4-6 PM with crafts, activities, snacks, and more! This free program requires registration and is open to children of all ages!


 

Lego Club

1st and 3rd Thursday, 4:30 – 5:30 PM

We provide the Legos, you provide the imagination. Build a creation, by yourself or in a group. Display it in the library until the next meeting, when we will dismantle it, and make something new! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.


Reading to WillowPAWS for Reading

First Saturday of the Month, 11 AM

Practice literacy skills by reading aloud to a well-trained therapy dog from PAWS for People (Pet-Assisted Visitation Volunteer Services). Dog and owner will be here for six individual 10-minute sessions. All readers must be pre-registered to participate. Free Program.

UPDATE! What’s better than reading to a PAWS dog? BEGINNING IN OCTOBER, it’s double the fun because Cooper and Wesley will both be here and more sessions are available!


GeoTrax Build and Play

First Saturday of the month, 1 – 2 PM

All aboard for fun, when we bring out the library’s collection of GeoTrax trains! Use tracks, buildings, and other accessories to create awesome setups. Then enjoy open playtime with your work! For ages 3 and up, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.


 

Lego Block Party

Fourth Saturday of the month, 1 – 2 PM

Each session we will build, in a group or on your own, a fabulous creation then play with family and friends. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.

 


Children’s programs at the Avon Grove Library are held in the Children’s Activity Room, just beyond the elevator in the lobby and are free unless otherwise noted. Most programs do not require registration.  Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Find our Storytimes, on the Storytime Page!

BAD WEATHER POLICY: Morning Programs are cancelled if the Avon Grove School District has a delayed opening or is closed. Afternoon or Evening Programs are cancelled if the schools are closed or close early. Updated cancellations will be posted in the Library’s Blog and on our Facebook Page.
