Cook the Books

Children to teens and their parent(s) are invited to cook healthy, tasty, plant-based goodies using cookbooks from our collection. Bring along your appetite! A parent and child program, for children grades 4 to 12 accompanied by a parent. Registration is required for this free program.


Lego Club

1st and 3rd Thursday, 4:30 – 5:30 PM

We provide the Legos, you provide the imagination. Build a creation, by yourself or in a group. Display it in the library until the next meeting, when we will dismantle it, and make something new! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.


Reading to WillowPAWS for Reading

First Saturday of the Month, 11 AM

Practice literacy skills by reading aloud to a well-trained therapy dog from PAWS for People (Pet-Assisted Visitation Volunteer Services). Dog and owner will be here for six individual 10-minute sessions. All readers must be pre-registered to participate. Free Program.


GeoTrax Build and Play

First Saturday of the month, 1 – 2 PM

All aboard for fun, when we bring out the library’s collection of GeoTrax trains! Use tracks, buildings, and other accessories to create awesome setups. Then enjoy open playtime with your work! For ages 3 and up, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.

Make-it Take-it

Drop in craft event for families. Choose from a variety of craft ideas. Make one, or more! All ages welcome. Free Program. No registration.


Egg Dye

Tuesday April 11, 6:30 – 7:30 PM

Please bring your own hard-boiled eggs to dye! All ages welcome for this free crafty family event.


Egg Drop

Thursday April 13, 2 – 3 PM

STEAM program! We’ll be using various materials to design a package to safely drop and egg from a distance of 6 feet! Free program, no registration.


Avon Grove Girls – Molly’s Birthday Party

April 28, 4 -6 PM

Celebrate Molly with a birthday party filled with games, fun crafts and special treats! Dolls are welcome! Registration is required. Free program


Children’s programs at the Avon Grove Library are held in the Children’s Activity Room, just beyond the elevator in the lobby and are free unless otherwise noted. Most programs do not require registration.  Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Find our Storytimes, on the Storytime Page!

BAD WEATHER POLICY: Morning Programs are cancelled if the Avon Grove School District has a delayed opening or is closed. Afternoon or Evening Programs are cancelled if the schools are closed or close early. Updated cancellations will be posted in the Library’s Blog and on our Facebook Page.
