Saturday, April 14, 10 AM – A is for April… Celebrate the ABCs!

Enjoy stories, crafts, and a delicious breakfast. Program is free and open to children 2 to 10 years of age. No registration required.

Friday, March 2 & Friday, March 23, 6:30 – 8:00 PM

Help us celebrate National Reading Month by reading! Families are invited to bring their pillows and blankets to read in pre-made forts throughout the library. We’ll have snacks and plenty of books to choose from! Come anytime between 6:30 and 8:00 PM. All ages welcome to this free event. No registration required.

*Beginning March 5* Every Monday, 11 AM – 12 PM

Starting on March 5, children ages 4 and 5 can join Miss Lydia for circle time, stories, art, and fun learning activities to help prepare for kindergarten! No registration required to this free program.


Cliffhangers Club

*Beginning March 7* Every Wednesday, 4:30 – 5:30 PM

For ages 6 – 9 years old. Bring your pillows and blankets and come listen as Miss Sarah reads aloud from chapter books! Over a series of weeks, read a book from start to finish with plenty of cliffhangers in-between. Then, we’ll celebrate the end of each book with a project or activity! No registration required to this free program.

Children in grades 1 – 5 are invited to join us for stories and snacks! We will meet each Friday to read books based on a theme and create a yummy after school snack! Registration for each week is required for this free event. Limited to 12 children each week.


Lego Club

1st and 3rd Thursday, 4:30 – 5:30 PM

We provide the Legos, you provide the imagination. Build a creation, by yourself or in a group. Display it in the library until the next meeting, when we will dismantle it, and make something new! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.

Reading to WillowPAWS for Reading

First Saturday of the Month, 11 AM

Practice literacy skills by reading aloud to a well-trained therapy dog from PAWS for People (Pet-Assisted Visitation Volunteer Services). Dog and owner will be here for six individual 10-minute sessions. All readers must be pre-registered to participate. Free Program.

UPDATE! What’s better than reading to a PAWS dog? BEGINNING IN OCTOBER, it’s double the fun because Cooper and Wesley will both be here and more sessions are available!

GeoTrax Build and Play

First Saturday of the month, 1 – 2 PM

All aboard for fun, when we bring out the library’s collection of GeoTrax trains! Use tracks, buildings, and other accessories to create awesome setups. Then enjoy open playtime with your work! For ages 3 and up, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.


Lego Block Party

Fourth Saturday of the month, 1 – 2 PM

Each session we will build, in a group or on your own, a fabulous creation then play with family and friends. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.


Children’s programs at the Avon Grove Library are held in the Children’s Activity Room, just beyond the elevator in the lobby and are free unless otherwise noted. Most programs do not require registration.  Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Find our Storytimes, on the Storytime Page!

BAD WEATHER POLICY: Morning Programs are cancelled if the Avon Grove School District has a delayed opening or is closed. Afternoon or Evening Programs are cancelled if the schools are closed or close early. Updated cancellations will be posted in the Library’s Blog and on our Facebook Page.
