Star Wars Reads Days

Friday, October 7 from 4 to 5 PM

Saturday, October 8 from 10:30 AM to Noon

Celebrate the 5th annual Star Wars Reads Day with crafts, activities, snacks, and more!  This free program requires registration and is open to children of all ages!

Second and Fourth Tuesday at 6 PM

October 11 – What’s Inside

October 25 – Spooky Science

Stop by the library for fun with STEAM projects for Kindergarten through 5th grade students. No registration is required. (STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.)

Avon Grove Girls – Samantha’s Ice-Cream Social

Friday, October 14 from 4 to 6 PM

Celebrate Samantha and the Victorian time period, with games, fun crafts, and ice-cream!  Dolls are welcome!  Registration is required.

Pumpkin Party

Saturday, October 15th at 11 AM

Bring your family for a fun harvest event!  Listen to harvest stories, decorate a pumpkin, trick or treat throughout the library, and enjoy yummy snacks!  Costumes welcome!  This free program is open to children of all ages and their families!

Those participating in making a scarecrow, will need to bring old clothes to dress your scarecrow (library will provide straw).

Books and Breakfast – Pet Pajama Party

Friday, November 11, 6:30 PM and

Saturday, November 12, 10 AM

Pet Pajama Party (November 12th- 13th): Bring a favorite stuffed animal, wear your pajamas, and enjoy fun stories at the library.  Leave your stuffed animal to spend the night at the library, then return the next morning to enjoy activities and breakfast with your pet!  Free program!  Children ages 2-10, no registration required.

Family Game Day

Saturday, November 19, 10 AM to 2 PM

Celebrate International Games Day 2016 at the Avon Grove Library.  Family Fun with games and snacks for all ages, no registration required.

Books and Breakfast – Winter Wonderland Workshop

December 10, 10 AM

Get into the holiday spirit with fun stories, then craft unique gifts for everyone in your family.  Celebrate your hard work with a delicious breakfast.  Free program!  Children ages 2-10, no registration required.

Lego Club

1st and 3rd Thursday, 4:30-5:30 PM

We provide the Legos, you provide the imagination. Build a creation, by yourself or in a group. Display it in the library until the next meeting, when we will dismantle it and make something new! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.

GeoTrax Build and Play

First Saturday of the month, 1 – 3 PM

All aboard for fun, when we bring out the library’s new collection of GeoTrax trains! Use tracks, buildings, and other accessories to create awesome setups. Then enjoy open playtime with your work! For ages 3 and up, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.

Lego Block Party

Fourth Saturday of the month, 1:30 – 2:30 PM

Each session we will build, in a group or on your own, a fabulous creation then play with family and friends. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.

Children’s programs at the Avon Grove Library are held in the Children’s Activity Room, just beyond the elevator in the lobby and are free unless otherwise noted. Most programs do not require registration.  Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

BAD WEATHER POLICY: Morning Programs are cancelled if the Avon Grove School District has a delayed opening or is closed. Afternoon or Evening Programs are cancelled if the schools are closed or close early. Updated cancellations will be posted in the Library’s Blog and on our Facebook Page.
