Books and Breakfast – A to Z Alphabet Mystery
Saturday, September 17 at 10 AM
Come listen to stories, then create crafts and search the library for the missing alphabet letters! Finish the morning with a tasty breakfast! Program is free and open to children 2 – 10 years of age, no registration required.
Family Yoga Day
Friday, September 23, 4 PM
Children age 4 and over and their caregiver can register for a program of yoga and stories with Pat McKeon, from The Light Within Yoga Studio. Registration required, limit 12 participants and their caregivers.
Thursday, September 29, 6:30 – 7:30 PM
Bring a nonperishable food donation for the local food pantry. Family Fun with prizes and snacks for all ages, no registration required.
Second and Fourth Tuesday at 6 PM
September 13 – Rockets
September 27 – Marble Maze
Stop by the library for fun with STEAM projects for Kindergarten through 5th grade students. No registration is required. (STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.)
1st and 3rd Thursday, 4:30-5:30 PM
We provide the Legos, you provide the imagination. Build a creation, by yourself or in a group. Display it in the library until the next meeting, when we will dismantle it and make something new! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.
Star Wars Reads Days
Friday, October 7 from 4 to 5 PM
Saturday, October 8 from 10:30 AM to Noon
Celebrate the 5th annual Star Wars Reads Day with crafts, activities, snacks, and more! This free program requires registration and is open to children of all ages!
Avon Grove Girls:
Samantha’s Ice-Cream Social
Friday, October 14 from 4 to 6 PM
Celebrate Samantha and the Victorian time period, with games, fun crafts, and ice-cream! Dolls are welcome! Registration is required.
Saturday, October 15th at 11 AM
Bring your family for a fun harvest event! Listen to harvest stories, decorate a pumpkin, trick or treat throughout the library, and enjoy yummy snacks! Costumes welcome! This free program is open to children of all ages and their families!
Those participating in making a scarecrow, will need to bring old clothes to dress your scarecrow (library will provide straw).
GeoTrax Build and Play
First Saturday of the month, 1 – 3 PM
All aboard for fun, when we bring out the library’s new collection of GeoTrax trains! Use tracks, buildings, and other accessories to create awesome setups. Then enjoy open playtime with your work! For ages 3 and up, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.
Lego Block Party
Fourth Saturday of the month, 1:30 – 2:30 PM
Each session we will build, in a group or on your own, a fabulous creation then play with family and friends. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free program for all ages, held in the Community Room. No registration needed.
Children’s programs at the Avon Grove Library are held in the Children’s Activity Room, just beyond the elevator in the lobby and are free unless otherwise noted. Most programs do not require registration. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
BAD WEATHER POLICY: Morning Programs are cancelled if the Avon Grove School District has a delayed opening or is closed. Afternoon or Evening Programs are cancelled if the schools are closed or close early. Updated cancellations will be posted in the Library’s Blog and on our Facebook Page.
