First Lego League teams are made up of children in grades 4 to 8. They research a real-world problem  and work to develop a solution. Teams design, build, and program a robot using LEGO Mindstorms to compete on a table-top playing field. The program works to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in programs that build science, technology, engineering, and math skills.
