Avon Grove Library will be closed Saturday, March 14, through Sunday, March 29. We will re-open Monday morning, March 30 at 10 a.m. No programs or storytimes will be held at the library or away from the library during this period. However, the Tax-Aide tax appointments will still be held in the front room as scheduled. (No further appointments are available.)
No fines will be charged during this period. Due dates have generally been changed to March 30, but patrons may want to check their accounts online in case there is any doubt.
Do remember our many online resources, which will all be available through our website during the closure: ebooks, the online catalog, and databases such as Flipster magazines. You can also download the Capira app to check your account and access these online resources from your device.
Coronavirus information and links to related resources are available through the Chester County Health Department webpage.
A few details: at 3:00 on March 13, the Chester County Commissioners declared a countywide Disaster Emergency for the next two weeks. They have closed all non-essential services, including the County Library in Exton and its branch, the Hankin Library in Chester Springs. While Avon Grove Library is not part of county (or local) government, we have decided to close in solidarity with the other libraries of the county, and also because the Commissioners are encouraging people to stay home when they can.
Stay safe and be well!
