You’re Invited to our

Summer Reading Kick-Off Party!

Join the Avon Grove Library’s 2019 Summer Reading Event “A Universe of Stories!” with programs, prizes, and fun all summer long! There are separate programs specially created for preschoolers, school age children, and teens.

The Summer Reading Program will start with a Kick-off Party on June 15th from 10 am to 2 pm, with fun free activities for the entire family. There will be two one-hour ‘Magicomedy’ shows with the Gustafsons, balloon sculptures, authors, temporary tattoos, crafts, snacks, and more.

How the Summer Reading Program works:

  • Registration for “A Universe of Stories” is free and begins at the Kick-off Party, but continues all summer long.
  • Every child who participates will receive a game board.
  • Check off each activity that you do on the game board. When you reach eight completed activities, you’ve earned a prize. Visit Avon Grove Library, have a librarian stamp your game board, and spin the prize wheel.
  • Continue to complete activities and each time you’ve done another amount for your age group, visit the library for another prize. It’s that simple!
  • Don’t want to play the game? Use the Reading Log on the back of the game board to keep track of the books you’re reading. When you’ve read for a certain amount of hours, bring your reading log to the prize desk for a stamp and spin the wheel for your prize. Books that are read to you count too!
