PA Forward at Our Library

PA Forward is a statewide initiative led by the Pennsylvania Library Association that helps libraries empower individuals and strengthen communities through essential life skills. The program focuses on five key areas, known as the Five Literacies:

• Basic Literacy – Reading, writing, and comprehension
• Information Literacy – Finding, evaluating, and using information effectively
• Civic & Social Literacy – Understanding and participating in our communities and government
• Health Literacy – Making informed health and wellness decisions
• Financial Literacy – Managing money and making sound financial choices

How Our Library Supports PA Forward:
Our library is proud to be a PA Forward partner and is committed to supporting lifelong learning for patrons of all ages. We incorporate PA Forward® principles into many of our programs, services, and resources by:

• Offering programs and workshops that align with one or more of the Five Literacies
• Providing access to books, digital resources, and databases that support learning and personal growth
• Creating welcoming spaces for learning, discovery, and community connection
• Helping patrons develop the skills they need to succeed in school, work, and everyday life

Programs that meet PA Forward® standards are identified so patrons can easily see how they support these important literacies.
